Creating a colourful oasis, reminiscent of effortless Brazilian beach clubs, we supported Havaianas in elevating their heritage in-store for a brand new pop-up along the Champs Elysées

Having worked with Havaianas for a number of years, the team approached StudioXAG with their most exciting project yet. Looking for a BIG BANG moment – something new and exciting that the brand has never done before – we set about designing the concept for this 3-month pop-up.

Inspired by ‘Ginga,’ we designed a store, rich with colour and full of easy-going movement and flow.

We curated an unexpected combination of textures and patterns that feel premium and elevated.

Following textural cues from the natural materials found on sandy beaches of Brazil, this tactile space is filled with bamboo, jute ropes, rattan and more, aligning with both our values as a B Corp and Havaianas’ goals to reduce the carbon impact of the temporary retail space.

Amongst the natural tones, we designed bright bursts of colour, including a huge sun sculpture, crafted using Havaianas flip flops and beaming in yellow and orange tones.

Following the launch of three different capsule collections over the three months in Paris – Farm Rio, Dolce & Gabbana and their own top capsule – an immersive room was designed to house the product launches, somewhere that could be easily adaptable and unique to each campaign.

The jute-lined room houses gallery-style plinths of bamboo and rattan and colour changing lights depending on the campaign. Soundscapes fill the room to immerse visitors in the feeling of each collection, the first being a Dolce & Gabbana collaboration in which the space is enveloped in Italian music and the product sits upon beautifully tiled plinths.

Attracting the Havaianas community to relax and enjoy the store, we designed a seating area with large cushions and stools while an LED screen projects visuals, transporting them into the heart of Brazilian beach life.
