John Lobb x StudioXAG: That Sounds Like Lobb

We were challenged with launching John Lobb’s new Autumn/Winter collection across several global stores in a way that complemented the brand and the luxurious tones of the new drop. We drew inspiration from the collection’s links with the creative energy of music, the street and classic formal codes at the source of English aesthetics.

In order to tell the story of the collection and convey an amplified level of energy and volume, we combined the subtle integration of ska music codes and contemporary yet lively compositions.

We explored instruments that represent the embodiment of musical volume, landing on the trumpet – a symbol of the ska music genre – and abstracted its familiar outlines for an elevated modern silhouette in a walnut effect and minimalist pipework, bringing a new attitude to the windows while maintaining their chic and neat appearance

The displays were designed with sustainability in mind. Reducing materials, the existing displays evolved and erupted into colour for the Winter drop, creating a fun, musical twist, referencing tones of the collection in bursts.
