Montblanc x StudioXAG: Patron of the Arts Exhibition

Taking a trip through past centuries, visitors can explore the stories of key patrons of arts and learn more about their effects on the worlds of art and culture. From Victoria and Albert, to Lorenzo de Medici, the exhibition celebrates individuals alongside Montblanc products that are intimately connected and inspired by the efforts and achievements of these notable individuals.

In the Temporary Exhibition space, we commissioned Nabil Nezzar – an illustrator and lifelong Montblanc fan – to create intricate illustrations that wrap the walls, helping give a tangible identity to each patron and their story. Vitrines dot the room, housing a curated selection of Montblanc’s famed writing instruments.

Each vitrine is dedicated to an individual – such as Steinway, the famed German piano maker, where piano keys were used within the vitrine to create a connection to his legacy. For Victoria and Albert’s vitrine, a regal red tray was adorned with letters and white envelopes, representing the famous written communiques between the British Queen and her beloved husband.

The 30-year Timeline Room is covered from floor to ceiling in a wall of black concertinaed paper which continues on a smaller scale within the vitrines. It resembles the design of the building facade which is based on writing instrument packaging.

Based on the modular furniture system integrated at Montblanc Haus, our work on the exhibition aimed to translate the space into an impactful market asset for the brand.
