Michael Kors x StudioXAG: La Rinascente

We worked with Michael Kors to conceive a series of window installations inspired by their FW18 campaign set in uptown New York.

Seeking inspiration from sight lines and strong perspectives, we re-created luxurious New York City street sets at a huge scale to frame and hero the new season’s collection.

“The buildings are as tall as the windows which really gives the feeling of being in the city.”

Campaign colours of marigold, teal and deep oxblood pop against the cool and contemporary white monochrome brick facades. Playful twists of coloured neon highlight recognisable NYC urban icons such as a luxurious uptown hotel canopy complete with its own red carpet.

Product is showcased within architectural features; a series of bags is highlighted by neon framed windows. Mannequins stand at a pedestrian crossing and perch on a Central Park bench to show off the feminine, free-spirited offering of ruffled skirts and flirty dresses.

Each set was fabricated by hand in our London workshop, before being carefully dismantled and transported to Milan. A team of 20 XAG crew (each averaging 18km on their step counts!) worked through the night to install all eight windows over one night only.
