5 Must-See Exhibitions at Milan Design Week 2025

Updates Milan Design Week 2025

Milan’s calling, and we’re answering. Ciao!

As the design world descends on Salone, we’ve picked five experiences that are expected to push boundaries, challenge norms, and make us rethink how we create spaces.

Take a look at what’s on our radar.

Formafantasma x Cassina – Staging Modernity

Design history gets a dramatic rethink. For the 60th anniversary of the iconic Le Corbusier®, Jeanneret® and Perriand® Collection, Cassina hands the stage to Formafantasma. Set in the grand Teatro Lirico, ‘Staging Modernity’ is part installation, part performance – a layered, provocative take on what modernism means now, and how its design legacy shapes the world around us.

BMW – Vibrant Transitions

BMW and MINI are bringing emotion to the forefront of future mobility. Taking over the Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda, Vibrant Transitions leads visitors through immersive, colour-coded corridors where sound, light and feeling collide. It’s a sensory deep dive into customisation, expression and the shifting role of design in how we move.

Google – Making the Invisible Visible

Teaming up with artist Lachlan Turczan, Google is turning light into something you can almost reach out and touch. Housed in Garage 21, this hypnotic installation aims to explore motion, reflection and energy through a quiet, meditative lens. Last year’s Google experience was a highlight, and we’re expecting another masterclass in sensory spectacle.

Lavazza – Source of Pleasure

Lavazza marks 130 years with a warm, immersive celebration in the heart of the city. Architect Juliana Lima Vasconcellos has created an 18-metre structure in the courtyard of Palazzo del Senato, inspired by the deep, earthy tones of coffee. It’s a space for reflection, ritual and pause. We’re hoping for a peaceful breather amidst the Milanese buzz.

10 Corso Como – LAYER’s 101010

Benjamin Hubert’s LAYER is looking back to look forward. 101010 marks a decade of bold, socially driven design with six new prototypes co-created with long-term collaborators including RAEBURN, Kvadrat and Muuto. Hosted at 10 Corso Como, it’s set to be a thoughtful showcase of innovative design that also makes a difference.
