Celebrating the relaunch of a Dutch icon for De Bijenkorf

A variety of window displays inspired by well known artworks from the Rijksmuseum to celebrate the museum’s grand re-opening after 10 years of renovation.

We created a visual identity for a series of window installations for De Bijenkorf inspired by their seasonal campaign, which the brand rolled out in all 7 of their department stores throughout the Netherlands.

Each window referenced an artwork as a tribute to the Dutch Masters. Mannequins and product became part of the masterpiece; flying amongst birds, posing in a still life or peeking out from behind giant paper collar ruffs.

Incorporating paper fans which framed mannequins, the windows brought each artwork to life. Reflecting the spirit of the Golden Age, a fleet of ships floated into the distance whilst windmills were positioned gracefully atop stilts.
